IS Royston Smith so out of touch with the people that he purports to serve and wants to serve, that he does not understand or have a clue what is going on in Southampton, let alone the rest of the country?
Food bank use is increasing not because the poor and disadvantaged look on a visit to a food bank as a social day out. They go because they are desperate.
Their desperation is a lot to do with the policies of his party’s action on benefits.
This without any thought of the true consequences of their actions. We all know that Eton does not cover poverty in its curriculum. But Royston really.
CHRISTINE COOPER, Southampton.
