I FULLY understand Bob Harris being upset with the reaction to his letter on November 8, which I had not read. However, having read his letter of January 1, I'm more than happy to support his views.
My reasons for reacting to Councillor Keith House's letter of November 15 was to expose the continuous misleading statements he makes at any given opportunity, especially if he can score a political point over the opposition.
To suggest he and councillors were not consulted in this case is taking the mickey as he holds the Hampshire County Council shadow cabinet environment portfolio in direct opposition to Councillor Mel Kendal.
I'm not a councillor nor even a member of a political party, but I am a very disgruntled citizen of Eastleigh who has watched the over development throughout the town and its suburbs, together with attempts to build on our parks/greens, allotments and open spaces, all accompanied with bureaucratic and political jargon of a dubious nature and before adequate infrastructure is in place.
Of course, this Lib Dem dominated council is only following government policy on building. Sewers are Southern Water's problem and roads HCC's. What a cop-out!
KEN WELLSTOOD, Eastleigh.
