CAN I assure Tony Lehrley-Fry that Gordon Brown does read every letter in the Daily Echo and any where else which mentions his name, because he subscribes to a press cutting agency.

When referring to him helping the needy, I would change this to helping the feckless and work shy.

While at the same time robbing the hard-working minority via stealth taxes under the guise of global warming.

He plundered the private pension schemes of the cash members saved all their working life to enjoy a comfortable and well-earned retirement. He has backed changing financial regulations to extract more tax.

He has recently increased flight tax, knowing it will make no difference to the number of people who fly; but will bring him more of our cash to squander. This is nothing more that Labour's envy and hate of the middle class.

Mr Brown has removed the business rate from local authorities, which has resulted in a massive increase in council tax to shire counties, which have a Conservative majority.

The feather-bedding of Labour authorities is nothing more than gerrymandering. They were only too quick to surcharge the Conservative leader of Westminster Council.

Bearing in mind the feckless and work shy do not pay council tax, get free prescriptions, eye tests and much more.

His increase in tax credits and child benefits is the reasons we have so many unemployed who would like to work; but losing all the above benefits would be worse off financially.

So can we really blame the cynical failure to raise inheritance tax in line with in house prices? The increased value has very little relevance when two sisters will lose their home when one dies. Yet allows gay couples to avoid the tax.

I am an old age pensioner and have seen the value of my income being reduced by savage increases in council tax and light and heat, which makes his £200 bounty a drop in the ocean.

Let us also not forget the decent, hard working people get no such relief.

The claimed 33,000 extra doctors and 85,000 extra nurses must be a mirage, as hospital waiting times are growing longer, and did I not read that health authorities are closing wards, local hospitals, and sacking nurses and doctors?

I dread the day when this dour Scotsman who lavishes his bounty on Scotland with no student tuition charges and prescription charges, while the those living in England have to pay.
