I HAVE always admired the Daily Echo for its unbiased and fair reporting on a range of subjects.

This is perhaps the main reason why I purchase your paper instead of the nationals with their own particular, sensationalist, agenda.

There would appear to be a concerted effort by contributors to the letters section to persuade readers to vote a certain way according to the authors’ point of view and political persuasion.

Indeed, this type of letter is becoming more dominant in your columns.

It is all very well having a point of view but to keep on repeating their, sometimes, wholly boring and argumentative content, may I humbly suggest the following: that the Echo set up a room far away from everybody in which Messrs O’Bee, Dash, Cook, Smith, Grant, Kyrle et al. all get together and pontificate to their hearts’ content without bothering anyone else with their radical and vitriolic views.

The Echo letters pages would then become more diverse in their content and INTERESTING!
