MY mum, who died recently aged 101 in her own home, never contemplated central heating for the disruption it would have caused – it is, after all, a major expense for any householder.
Mum always had a hat on for warmth indoors and couldn’t get on with social services, who messed her way of life up.
But it turns out she probably suffered partial dementia, which caused her falls.
I do hope our care systems for the over-70s improve for me.
RUTH A OLDEN, Hythe.
