A child is killed by a dog and we have the debate as to whether it was the dog's fault, if it was a dangerous breed and therefore should the owner be prosecuted etc.
When will the public prioritise their children above their animals?
All dogs, whether or not they are a potentially a dangerous breed, should never be left alone with young children.
Owners should familiarise themselves with the statistics concerning injuries caused by dogs to children - they would shock you.
So what do you value more - your child or your pet? If you love your children then protect them as you would from any other potential dangers.
Any parent whose young child is injured by the family dog should be prosecuted as they would be if the child was burnt by a fire without a fireguard, it is just as irresponsible.
