IT would appear our youngsters have adopted a new adaptation of the English language involving the word “like”.
For example, I overheard today “I went round to my mate’s house the other day like to see if he was all right, like” etc, etc.
Where has this come from and what’s it all about? Don’t parents correct speech any more? It all sounds pretty stupid to me.
