WHAT a joke! The council closes Lordshill Way in Southampton for several nights in a row for “Surface dressing classified” according to the council’s website.
It’s a disgrace. Tust a few very short patches of new surface in the worst places then what appears to be just sealing up the gaping chasms that remain.
All we need is a harsh winter with plenty of ice and snow and Lordshill Way will turn into a gravel path. Each night the road was blocked off at the Woburn Road entrance with cones and a van with a guy sleeping inside.
Nice to see how the council feels that its acceptable to yet again waste money on poorly maintained roads and putting vehicles through unneccessary pot holes and bumps in the road.
Next time councillors, rethink your approach to road maintainance by actually doing the job right first time.
No doubt the money will be spent on councillors’ pay rises and bonuses, not on what the taxpayers need which is proper services and surfaces.
Just shameful.
Lordswood is treated like a cash cow. Take our taxes and in return we get poor services back.
Value for money is not what we are getting.
Close Lordshill Way this summer and do the job properly please.
STEVE, Lordshill, Southampton.
