As much as I disapprove of Jade's uncontrolled outburst within the Big Brother house I feel sorry for her due to the media hype. The media should take some of the blame for the hatred generated.
The large amount of coverage has influenced the way the nation has views Jade.
This can also be contributed by the way Channel 4 edits and broadcasts the coverage.
Of course Channel 4 revels in this and it is exactly what they want.
To confine people from the opposite ends of society together, you are going to get fireworks.
It does not matter what race or religion they are, there will always be friction among the housemates.
Two years ago security officers were brought into the house to break up a blazing row between two of the women due to a clash of personalities.
But this time just because one of them is Indian the media has emphasised a racial aspect to it, in addition to the verbal bullying.
None of Jade's words were pre-empted but just the result of unmanaged anger at the time.
If Shilpa felt intimidated, grossly upset, she could at any time walk out of the house. The media does not seem to take this into account.
