THANK you to the organisers of the Southampton Maritime Festival.
A pleasant few hours spent on the waterfront.
Can I suggest, though, that future maritime festivals have more of a maritime element?
Sure, we had Shieldhall, tug Challenge, three Dunkirk little ships, tug Calshot and Tenacious, a Southamptonbuilt wooden tall ship to take people of all abilities (which you couldn’t go on!).
I just thought that perhaps we could have had a few more boats/ships that we could visit.
What about a few more displays, both on and off the water? It was a large site that could have accommodated more in the way of exhibits.
A large vacant gap in the quayside next to the cruise terminal could have been filled.
Maybe next year?
Wonderful to hear and see the unmistakable Spitfire and Hurricane again in the skies above the city!
RICHARD A JACOB, Shirley, Southampton.
