IN the Daily Echo comment section, you refer to Romsey being against the Tesco development at Broadlands and the potential jobs the supermarket would bring.
Likewise the New Forest has been criticised for rejecting the bike hire scheme.
In relation to the Tesco project at Romsey, this could have seen the demise of local businesses and jobs in the area.
There are already two supermarkets in the town.
In the case of the bike hire plan, the New Forest already has bike hire outlets in many of the towns and villages across the Forest.
The proposed bike hire is a commercial venture which would directly threaten existing businesses.
Comments suggesting future grants to the New Forest should be withheld are unfair and obviously not thought through.
IAN FRASER, Lyndhurst.
