EACH summer at my mother’s home a mystery blanket of what appears to be a web, pictured above, envelops this plant.
It takes about two weeks and the plant is completely covered.
No one ever sees a spider or insect busy at work.
Many people passing by stop and take photos.
It starts to disintegrate about six weeks later and as the last bit of web is there you can see very small green leaves growing until the plant is totally green again and later with red berries.
Can any reader tell us what causes this web-type structure as I would love to be able to tell people passing by next summer?
