What an inspiration it was to read the letter from Kenneth MaClean (January 2).

It is a clear indication that the British people are now waking up from the slumber of 35 years, when we thought we were joining the Common Market.

They are beginning to realise that since 1972 all governments, in their arrogance, deceived us.

It has been the most despicable and insidious treachery within our history; taking us in gradually by stealth, into this undemocratic, fraudulent federal European Union, without the permission of the British people.

There are still loyal voters who cannot bring themselves to break away from their long-standing party.

Many of them are disillusioned, and anxious, not knowing which way to go. They still believe that one day their leader will bring back the freedom that our country once knew.

This will not happen. The leaders of the three main parties would rather give our country away to the EU than to go against them.

This is why UKIP was formed. Dedicated men and women, from all political persuasions joined together in 1993 to unite and work together to bring freedom back to our country.

The majority of the British people want to withdraw from the EU and govern our own laws from our own parliament, and to negotiate a new trade agreement.

UKIP is the only party who will achieve this and bring our country back.
