BACK in March the residents of Bursledon and Lowford found themselves the proud recipients of a sparkling new community building in the shape of the ‘Lowford Centre’, comprising a much-needed new doctors surgery, library, parish office and community rooms.
Sadly nearly six months later the centre is beginning to look shabby and dirty. The toilets are rarely open and when they are, they are filthy.
The library is well run by volunteers who seem to have little support from the centre management.
Unless there is change in the running of the centre, I fear it will simply become another white elephant like Eastpoint.
I would have liked to have put these points directly to the committee supposedly running the centre but the website, which has not been updated since prior to the opening, has no direct contact details. Therefore, chairman Mr Misslebrook, I look forward to your response.
PHILIP DUNGEY, Bursledon.
