City needs lighting help
I WAS very interested recently to read in the Daily Echo that Ringwood has applied to the National Lottery for a grant towards its Christmas lights this year and has successfully been awarded £10,000 for this.
If Ringwood can get help, I see no reason why Southampton can’t get it as well.
Judging by the pathetic efforts of Southampton City Council in recent years, it’s in dire need of financial assistance to bring back the decent show of Christmas lights we were so accustomed to years ago in the city centre.
