WITH regards to the letter from Doug Perry about Riverside Park, I tend to disagree with what he is saying.
I am a daily user of the park for my own recreation and for charity walks. Every day I see dogs and their owners using the space behind Bitterne Park School, even in school time.
This should not be allowed to happen. I am aware of the ‘No Dogs Allowed’ signs there but some people seem to ignore this.
I think the children using the school should have their own space to exercise, play and resource without the dog mess and sometimes dangerous dogs running around.
As I understand, the school has proposed to build a footpath around the area, so I can see no inconvenience being caused.
All I say is let the children cross from the school to the park and do their activities safely.
G BULBROOKE, Bitterne Park.
P.S. I do not own a dog.
