IF members of the city council wish to consult and value the opinions of the public on any given project, they should first be careful to supply us with enough detail and information to enable us to make up our minds sensibly.
The hot topic of the moment, of course, is the laser project, and I am getting extremely tired of reading letters in the Echo from people who are obviously not aware of all the facts.
Unfortunately these have been meted out to us in dribs and drabs over a series of articles beginning in mid-December; and a council comment supplied by Greenwich Observatory, which apparently is already in procession of a laser display, was published too late to affect the outcome of the recent Echo readers' poll.
We really need to have as much expert opinion and information as possible.
Apparently the council has spent our money on a thorough fact-finding exercise; at least it would do everyone would be to share all that knowledge with us, otherwise we cannot possibly offer a truly informed opinion.
