ACCORDING to ‘Name Supplied’ of Ocean Village, “Our NHS will always be safe with the Labour Party...” (Letter, November 3).
That’ll be the same Labour Party that, between 1997 and 2010, introduced the fiscal insanity of private finance initiatives (PFIs), by which hospitals were built on debt, that must be repaid at staggering rates of interest.
Hospitals now unable to pay their debts are forced to cut jobs and frontline services.
Name Supplied describes UKIP as “ultra right-wing”.
Presumably he perceives Labour as ultra left-wing. UKIP’s policies on health include: keeping the NHS free at point of delivery; scrapping hospital parking charges; restoring free eye and dental checks; opening GP surgeries in the evening, and investing in primary care.
I trust that’s all “right-wing” enough for Name Supplied.
