IT'S always pleasing to get on the wrong side of Councillor June Bridle, you just know you have to be doing something right.
Perhaps if shee had displayed a bit of political backbone, like Perry McMillan did when he was a councillor and refused to vote for cuts in local services, Labour might not have lost so many seats in recent years.
Labour the only party who voted against the SSP? It was a Labour initiative originally.
Labour have consistently carried through the privatisation of local services and proposed further cuts to local services this year, just like the Lib Dems and Tories.
People are right to stand up and organise in defense of their services. Why should we be asked to pay more in council tax for less services?
Is this what Labour voters wanted in 1997? Perhaps this is why you have lost so many councillors, members and voters in the last ten years.
