I WAS a little dissappointed by the Conservative councillor Peter Baillie's comments towards Nick Chaffey and the Save our Services campaign.

His references to supporting different parties I found a bit rich considering he himself, before becoming a Tory, stood as an independent in Bitterne Park and previous to that stood as an independent socialist in Harefield during the 1990s.

I cannot imagine what kind of political transformation had to occur for Cllr Baillie to be in his current party. But then again nothing surprises me with the Tories, who build whole manifestos around cutting back and privatising council services.
