I MUST respond to Chief Supt Paul Stickler's article in the Daily Echo. He said: "I get the sense there is a significant prevalence in the use of knives''. What planet is he on?
He goes on to say: "It's fairly routine for us each day to deal with crime where knives have been used. That is enough to alert me and give cause for concern''.
That makes us feel really safe. So what does he do? Put more bobbies on the beat?
He should get them out of their cars and from behind desks and get them on the streets where they should be.
Talk to residents - the young and the old - and let's get back to policing how it should be and once was.
