I RECENTLY visited the newly refurbished Manor public house in Shirley.
While there I visited the toilets. Once inside I couldn't breathe. I thought that someone had used a lot of fly spray. Then I realised that the whole toilet had been sprayed with a greasy substance (including the seat that I sat on). The walls, floors and even beside the sink outside the toilet that I put my handbag on while I washed my hands were covered in it. This ruined my bag.
When I told the bar staff they laughed and said it was to stop cocaine users.
I do not agree with drug abuse, nor am I a drug taker. I will not be using the pub again.
I have been told that there is a product you can buy to put down which is odourless.
NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED.
Janice Yeates replies: I have recently taken over as manager of the Manor public house, and I have a zero tolerence of drug use.
We have used a substance to stop drug use in our toilets, it is safe and harmless. It is certainly not put everywhere, just the places where people satisfy their habit.
My bar staff certainly would not have laughed.
