WHAT an eyesore our grass verges have become, since the council has been spraying weedkiller on every signpost, lamppost and road sign. Everywhere has brown, barren patches.
I know they are trying to cut costs, but we all pay extortionate taxes which should adequately cover a man with a strimmer.
Ideally, why not just leave the grass and wild flowers as they are? They will only grow to about a foot high and will die off in the winter.
This could help combat the depletion of the ozone layer.
