I LIVE near Dumbleton Copse and Netley Common Nature Reserve.
In the past week, firefighters have had to put out four fires in four days. Large areas of grassland have been destroyed, also an area with gorse, shrubs and young trees.
I regularly dog walk in this area. When walking I take an extra bag to pick up broken glass. Glass is dangerous to children, animals and a fire hazard.
I'm unaware how these fires started - by cigarette ends, glass, nature or arson - but I know that every time I go up there I nearly fill a bag with broken glass and beer bottles.
Such a lovely area is being destroyed. Fences are repeatedly broken, rubbish, including a burnt out car, is dumped, trees are uprooted, branches broken.
Why? Please if you take bottles etc with you take them home.
It could be a member of your family cut or burnt.
Wildlife gives a lot of people enjoyment, don't spoil it.
