I HAVE lived in central Southampton now for some 15 years, and sadly I no longer recoginise the place.
We are overrun with an ever- growing student population who seem to show no respect for the area they live in or the people who live close by.
Immigration is at an unbelievable high. Although I am all for a multicultural society, walking through the parks of Southampton among crowds of eastern European men, who have little or absolutely no respect for women, is quite threatening.
They don't seem to take or understand no for an answer. This really is a concern for female safety in the area.
Walking home from work through Bedford Place daily I am faced with an ever-increasing barrage of drunks and druggies.
I would like to point out I am only in my thirties!
I would be very interested to see how other people perceive the changes in the area.
