THE proposal to relocate Southampton's main post office to W H Smith is typical of the new dictatorship which is being encouraged by the Govern-ment.
How will people, who want to conduct a quick transaction, access W H Smith in the middle of the inaccessible Above Bar precinct?
Do we have to check into a multistorey car park just to buy a stamp or carry out any small transaction? Winchester poses the same problem.
Will they listen to the objections? No! We don't care what you think.
Look at what happens with BT and British Gas - you can't even talk to a human being.
What about the public attitude to road pricing, ID cards and the recent glaring example of the traffic lights at junction three of the M27?
Who are these people who do not care what the public think?
It's not as if they are more intelligent than we are or have better understanding of the country we live in.
Who put them there in the first place? Who pays their salaries?
Roll on the revolution.
JACK HOWARD, Southampton.
