SOUTHAMPTON is boasting it is the top cruise port - good. Living close to Mayflower Park, I am frequently there to see these luxurious ships arrive and depart.
I feel so ashamed to see them glide past the ruins of the Royal Pier. It is well past time this eyesore was removed from the water, or dare I suggest, rebuilt as we locals would enjoy using it.
Also can I mention that the seats at the end of Town Quay are barred from use. Why is it made so difficult to see these liners come and go in the city?
