IN view of the ongoing saga with the traffic signals at the M27/M271 junction, surely the Highways Authority should have learned their lesson from the fiasco they produced a few years ago at Junction 7 (Hedge End) westbound. You may recall they attempted to regulate the flow of traffic onto the motorway and the only thing it did produce was total chaos on the surrounding roads.
Many years ago it was always said that, putting a policeman on point duty was guaranteed to bring traffic in the surrounding area to a complete halt.
Times don't change, let the drivers sort out the flow.
