WE, too, suffer sleep deprivation thanks to Dairy Crest delivering to our neighbours between 2am and 3am, three times a week.
Initially, the driver would park right outside our house, with the diesel engine running and the headlights blinding.
Anyone else in a similar situation should ring Dairy Crest (Portsmouth Road) and ask to speak to the transport manager. He does listen and promises to take complaints seriously.
However, it does not alleviate the problem, as obviously Dairy Crest still has a job to do. We now find that the driver either parks at the end of the cul-de-sac or drives in the close a little quieter and switches the engine off straight away.
Now that the warmer nights are here and our bedroom window is open, our sleep is yet again being interrupted, and we feel another phone call is looming!
We would like to know why Dairy Crest use such noisy vehicles. Tesco wouldn't be allowed to deliver at such an ungodly hour, so what gives Dairy Crest the right?
LINDA WALLIS, Warsash.
Dairy Crest was invited to reply but has not done so - letters editor.
