IT seems the Government is approving/allowing the housing industry to build more and more three storey houses in order to let house builders make yet more profit and, at the same time, establishing the future housing for elderly home owners.
No doubt in the near future, when the elderly are unable to cope with climbing three stories to go to bed they will of necessity have to downsize to an old people's flat/apartment and lose their last vestiges of independence.
The housing industry has, of course, made provision for this, as they require a minimum of five per cent of any profit(s) made on the subsequent sale of the flat/apartment by the elderly persons heirs!
And we thought Gordon Brown was good at stealth taxes!
