LINDA Wallis (Letters, May 14) should think herself lucky being disturbed by Dairy Crest milkmen delivering between 2am and 3am.

For four years we and our neighbours have had to cope with Dairy Crest's depot in Stratton Road.

They open the yard about midnight and from then until morning we have continuous noise, lorries engines are never turned off, crates are thrown about, wagons leaving, lorries being loaded and unloaded.

It's like an industrial estate in the middle of the day. The residents have lodged one complaint after another to anyone who might help us, but nothing has been done.

We can't open the windows when it is hot at night because of the racket.

The people who work for Dairy Crest are inconsiderate and thoughtless, and the people who we've asked to help us are totally useless.

MRS HANLEY, Shirley, Southampton.
