MY husband and I, too, are awaken by the Dairy Crest delivery van in the middle of the night (Letters, May 14).
A while back, someone whose husband is one of the saintly milkmen, suggested on this page that we should turn over and go back to sleep again.
This isn't always that easy for a lot of the community for various reasons including insomnia, illness and frustration at having been woken, yet again, by the milkman.
As the weather is getting warmer and bedroom windows are left open at night, my concerns move to my three-year-old, hoping she isn't woken as well.
Not only are the diesel engines noisy but the all gas and brakes' style of driving doesn't help and can continue to be heard several streets away.
Please, Dairy Crest, do something about this as you won't be getting any new customers, let alone keep the current ones.
UNGRATEFULLY AWOKEN, Ashurst. (by e-mail).
