IN your correspondence on Mr Cleverley's tirade about immigration, he ends by a voicing his concern that the "true Anglo Saxons, the real Brits'' could become outnumbered. A moderate knowledge of British history should tell him that the Anglo Saxons were themselves immigrants from Germany. They began arriving in the 5th century soon after the Romans left our shores. Plus ça change!
