WHILE running across Southampton Common as a teenager in the early 70s, I together with other pupils of our school found it a relief to use the water taps.
Now that I am running across the Common again, I have noticed that the taps are no longer there, and I have no idea why they have been removed.
Now that temperatures will rise in the summer, if replaced they could surely be a relief to many people, not just runners.
