THE people of Harefield have re-elected Adrian Johnson, until recently the Conservative spokesman for children's services and learning.
Perhaps he would like to explain to the people of Harefield why we still don't have the new school building for our primary school which was promissed to us over a year ago?
And further, what is he doing about it? He can hardly claim ignorance of the needs of children given his prominent position.
I should point out I not a member of any political party, and my comments would remain the same irrespective of the political party involved.
MATT PROBERT, Harefield, Southampton.
Cllr Johnson replies: As Mr Probert and many others who also live near to, or use, Harefield Primary School know, I and my fellow Conservative councillors have lobbied hard on behalf of the school.
It was the previous Liberal Democrat administration that started the process but again failed to deliver their promises.
Mr Probert asks what I'm doing. I have asked questions in council, been in communication with officers and the previous Cabinet member and I will continue to act on behalf of the school and residents.
I recently met the new Conservative Cabinet member, Councillor Peter Baillie, to discuss this very issue.
