I COULDN'T agree more with OAP (Letters, May 19) that senior citizens are outcasts because they do not have e-mail or the Internet.
I am in the same position, as I do not have a computer. In addition, I am hard of hearing and cannot use the telephone for that reason. Consequently I have to rely on letters, but the organisations I have had on occasion to write to either haven't any typists or cannot be bothered to reply.
I have recently written to Southern Water, Southern Electricity, the Forestry Commission, RIAS Insurance and even the Daily Echo, none of which have replied!
Now more post offices are to be closed, the DVLA ask us to go online or phone for our road tax!
We are being left behind by big businesses and hi-tech methods, whose only interest is to reduce expenses and increase profits, but they still want our money!
PERPLEXED, Calmore.
