MRS R Prodmore should be considered fortunate having to wait over the four hours for a reply (Reporting Potholes, Letters, April 26).
I first complained to the Action Line number, as recommended by the council spokesman, concerning a problem with the road affecting my house, on December 21, 2006, and have done so countless times since, each time being promised a reply.
Guess what? That's right - nothing! Except that is from one chap who made it quite clear he wasn't particularly interested. This is nothing short of pathetic service from a council who appear not to give a monkeys.
MR MARTIN, Southampton.
A Southampton City Council spokesman replies: We are sorry to hear that Mr Martin was not satisfied with the service he received from us. A member of the highways team was due to meet Mr Martin to discuss and rectify the issue.
We would ask any residents with queries or issues regarding council services to contact Actionline, 0800 5 19 19 19.
