CRICKET is our truly English game - popular for years and the favourite game of thousands worldwide I am told.
So why could we only watch an hour of highights of the world championships and only then at midnight? The Tests here are even more poorly covered with just three quarters of an hour daily on Channel 5 which many people cannot receive.
Yet when it comes to snooker, golf, tennis, football etc, the cover is almost full day. Sometimes two or three channels are broadcasting the same sport. Yet we cannot even watch highlights of county cricket on TV.
I often wonder whether there is a conspiracy involving the Americans to wipe out cricket from their growing empire, remember they were one of the few countries not taking part in the world championships in the West Indies.
I have complained to all of the TV channels and they cannot or will not give me a reason why they only give a tiny coverage to cricket and then only on the news.
Am I alone in feeling deprived or is there someone else who cares even just a little?
