What a smashing letter from Mr David Collins all about loyalty.
It was absolutely true what he wrote from the heart. My four brothers and sisters and their families were very loyal supporters as are the fans, which pass my home in Bitterne Road.
I see the same faces often on Saturdays of all ages excited to be going to see their team, “Saints”.
The prices are a rip-off but the fans think it’s worth it, and when they win the faces are a picture. I often listen to the radio for the reporting of the game.
We have had some brilliant players past and present, so as Mr Collins says, consider the fans, because without them, the players won’t get paid and the people will have no-where to go on a Saturday afternoon.
How sad – another pleasure taken away from the working man.
