SOMETIMES you need to put two things together to solve two problems.
British Steel will only survive if buyers can be found for the product it makes. It’s been suggested that this could well involve contracts for UK infrastructure projects.
The Waterside would greatly benefit from restoring the railway line to a passenger service. I understand that this would involve upgrading it with new track.
So, let’s help save British Steel, let’s benefit the area with a swift, cleaner means of transport and reduce our traffic congestion and air quality issues in the process. Simples!
