IN my view civil liberties issues continue to worsen in the UK. More powers are demanded of the police.
The Prime Minister-elect, Gordon Brown, demands police in the school grounds or play yard.
Some people say more teachers, better resources and even schools might help. The idea of freedom is worth more examination and a better defence than seen here.
The fact that this logic is questioned by a few senior police officers shows the debate is long overdue.
