There has been a lot on the news about whether or not childhood obesity is a case of neglect. But whether or not this is the case, we all agreed that it is a really serious issue.
This is because obesity is closely linked to cancer as well as other chronic diseases, and the fact is that eating habits learned early in life are often habits for life.
One of the things our charity has done is to create the Great Grub Club website, which teaches children aged four to seven about healthy eating through interactive games and competitions and shows them fun ways to incorporate physical activity into their daily lives.
We all need to work together to tackle the problem of childhood obesity and ensure our children can look forward to a fit and healthy future. Projects like the Great Grub Club website can play an important part in this.
I would urge parents with children in this age group to visit the site at www.greatgrubclub.com.
