I am most concerned after reading the item (daily Echo, June 4) that a new state-of-the-art rehab centre is opening shortly in the building previously known as Gaters' Hill House, Mansbridge Road, West End.
It seems New Forest businessman Tom Finlay has identified a need for affordable rehabilitation treatment facilities in Hampshire.
Plans are not only well under way, staff have already been named as coming from the 'famous' Priory Hospital in Marchwood, which prompts me to ask two questions - are we talking about a NHS establishment to fulfill a desperate need or a private money making concern for those who can afford to pay the price? (not that it matters either way) Also, shouldn't there have been some kind of consultation or at least information given to local residents, that their comments, be they good or otherwise could have been heard? (Or have I missed something here?) NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED.
