I FEEL that it is just as well the idea of laser lights from the Civic Centre has been scrapped. This is not a new idea at all. I can remember such things while on holiday in Lloret-de-Mar Spain years ago.
The idea of the tethered balloon again, apart from copying the idea from Bournemouth is not new; we saw such a thing in Tenerife while on holiday.
As for the idea of purchasing QE2, where does Southampton council think they are going to get £50m? (Please don't mention council taxes), a replica Titanic would probably cost less than that!
Cannot Southampton cuncillors come up with an original idea; something-other cities will be envious of? Why must this city be trailing in the wake of other more forward thinking councils?
We must therefore pick the brains of the ordinary citizen for a wo factor to make Southampton once more a great and proud city.
