WHERE are the litter wardens on a Saturday? The city is an eyesore with so much discarded fast food wrapping.
While waiting for a bus I watched a man eating then dropped the litter on the ground. There was a bin about six yards away. Perhaps that bin should be a little closer as a lot of people eat while waiting for a bus.
Having said that I dare say he would still have thrown it down even if he'd been standing next to it.
This happened at the end of my road when some youths were sat on the bin and dropped their litter on the ground. I picked it up and asked the young lady to move her leg so I could do it for her and she looked at me in amazement.
I suppose while we have the wonderful men who clean up after them and no doubt their mothers waiting on them and me daft enough to keep picking up their mess (and the rat population eating their leftovers)it will never get better.
What is it going to be like in another few years? I dread to think. Particularly as we are getting paranoid about rats.
