In response to the letter by Councillor Gavin Dick calling on new Prime Minister Gordon Brown to hold a referendum in order to instigate the change he has been talking about, I would to give Cllr Dick some advice. He doesn't need to take it but he should at the very least listen to it.
You should be careful what you wish for, all recent opinion polls have placed Labour ahead of the Tories. Why?
It has nothing to do with a Brown Bounce but everything to do with a Conservative party having no policy. When they attempt a new policy like no commitment to grammar schools they are forced to backtrack in the face of anger from ordinary Tory members.
Since David Cameron became leader of the Conservatives we have seen the Tories lose all values and belief and replace it with spin and no policy.
I would like to ask all Conservatives that if a general election was called tomorrow what would be in thier manifesto? If they would like my five-year-old could write it for them as she can spell her name so at least there would be something in there.
