IT is the good news about the arrival of the new air ambulance, albeit based at Thruxton.
If Southampton Airport can't find room for the helicoptor why not base it at Lee-on-the-Solent? Lee and Stubbington residents are proud to have the Coastguard helicopter and police spotter plane based at the old HMS Daedalus site. A third emergency air service sited at Lee seems the logical answer.
SEEDA, Gosport and Fareham cuncils are currently consulting the locals about the future of the Daedalus site - now is the ideal time for the South Central Ambulance Service to contact SEEDA.
