IT is a sad day when Southampton is yet to loose another fine building in the name of progress. The Taunton College that provides education to 16-18 year olds is to be demolished and replaced by a three-tier flat-roofed building.
This beautiful building was once the Hill College for Girls and the girls' grammar. It stands gracefully among homes built in the same period around 1927 and into the 30s.
This kind Government has seen fit to lose £23m to this new building and Taunton's Mr Prest has been taunting local residents that if they object and make it difficult, they may look to the highest bidder from property developers which may not be favourable to the local residents! How dare they bully local residents!
How many more appartments are to be built in this city? We hear complaints that due to our increased population we do not have enough landfill or sustainable drinking water. What a surprise!
