DEAF people have not been mentioned in the letters about cycling on pavements. I could not hear a tractor, let alone a bicycle. Unless I walked in a straight line like a soldier on sentry duty I could have a nasty accident. Pavements are for pedestrians, and the road is for all forms of transport. If you cannot ride a bicycle on the road you should not be on one.
