I have always been annoyed that money collected through taxation which is meant to cover the cost of essential services provided by councils is also in part used for the benefit of so-called community organisations.
Money is tight and in the case of the New Forest Show getting £20,000 for an artillery troop display is yet another example of wasted funding.
What have a bunch of men dressed in silly uniforms and letting off canon fire to do with rural life?
Surely the show is meant for arts and crafts, animals, wildlife protection and so on!
